Taking Sides Essays

There are 8 Taking Sides essays assigned. I will drop the lowest grade, so 7 must be completed for full credit.

Grades drop one letter grade for every day assignments are late without prior approval.

Instructions

At the top of your essay put the assignment number, title, and your name.

Address these questions:

Who are the authors? What are their backgrounds?

Briefly state the main idea of this issue. What are the authorsπ assumptions?

List three important facts that are disputed by each author.

What are the authorsπ conclusions and what methods and data did the authors use to reach their conclusions?

List any examples of bias or faulty reasoning that you found in the selections.

Explain which argument you found most persuasive and why. There is no one right answer here, just how well you support your opinion.

Essays should be 4 to 5 pages, typed, and double-spaced.
