Advisory Board

The Academic Success Program Advisory Board enhances the efforts of the Academic Success Program by assisting, retention, and persistence of all Academic Success Program students.

The Advisory Board consists of 26 members to include the Executive Committee.  The Board is represented by Academic Success Program students, parents, university faculty and administrators, community representatives (to include Shippensburg University alumni), and one representative from student government. 

The Advisory Board meets two times each semester and the Executive Committee meets once each semester.

The Advisory Board's primary responsibilities include:

  • Maintenance of an annual scholarship fund for four academically outstanding students
  • Maintenance of a student emergency loan fund
  • Conducting in-depth evaluations of the Summer Residential Pre-College Experience Program
  • Referring prospective students to the University and
  • Assistance in helping students acquire internship experiences
