Summer Residential Pre-College Experience Program (PREP)

The Summer Bridge Program provides a realistic orientation to the roles and expectations of a Shippensburg student.


The PREP Program is a five-week mandatory program, the focus of which is to provide a realistic orientation to the roles and expectations of Shippensburg University students.   Students must participate in a variety of activities such as placement testing and information sessions, as well as complete various interest inventories.  In addition, all students will enroll into two college courses, for which they must earn at least a "C" grade. 

Students selected to participate in this program can expect to receive the following benefits:

  • An extended orientation to college life.
  • A connection to the ASP faculty and staff.
  • Guidance in utilizing the electronic resources required by the university, such as: e-mail, Blackboard, and the Student Information System.
  • An introduction to the general education curriculum and the journey to major selection.
  • Awareness of the university’s academic policies and procedures.
  • Increase student’s awareness of institutional resources.
  • An understanding of the ASP resources available throughout their college career.

ASP Summer Packet

By now, you should have received a packet in the mail from the ASP office.  Please review carefully for any questions you may have about the program or move in day.  Below are a couple links from the information that was included in the packet.  Please ensure you return the Student Agreement and Release Form and the Parent Acknowledgment form on or before July 12.  There is a self addressed stamped envelope included in the packet.
