Q. |
What is The Association to Advance Collegiate
Schools of Business (AACSB International)? |
|
A. |
AACSB International is our main accreditation
source for business. Middle States Association is the basic
accreditation for the entire university and AACSB is just
for business. |
| |
|
|
Q. |
Why does it matter to me if the College of
Business is accredited? |
|
A. |
AACSB International accreditation is your way
to show the education you received is of the highest quality.
Your future employers know it is a sign of excellence. |
| |
|
|
Q. |
Does every university have AACSB International
accreditation? |
|
A. |
No, approximately 460 worldwide and 18 in Pennsylvania.
The John L. Grove College of Business was the first in the Pennsylvania
State System of Higher Education and has been accredited since
1981. |
| |
|
|
Q. |
Doesn't the accreditation last forever? |
|
A. |
No, it is reaffirmed every five years under the
new guidelines. The examining team will be here in 2005 - 2006. |
| |
|
|
Q. |
What happens when they are here? |
|
A. |
The team of examiners will look at many documents
we have prepared; talk to our faculty, administrators, alumni,
staff, and with many students. When they have checked to see
if we have met the necessary level of quality, they will meet
with the Dean and tell him the results. |
| |
|
|
Q. |
What do I do? |
|
A. |
We hope you will agree to meet with the examiners
if requested. We hope you tell the story of our College of Business
and help the examiners get a clear picture of the College of
Business. |
| |
|
|
Q. |
Does it look like we will pass? |
|
A. |
Nothing is ever guaranteed in business. But, we
have held the accreditation since 1981, and we believe the College
of Business is better now than ever. We have a new core, new
majors, a new minor, high tech facilities, and excellent students. |
