The Shippensburg University chapter of the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is a student-run organization that is affiliated with the national organization of the Institute of Management Accountants. The Institute of Management Accountants is an organization that focuses on the private accounting industry. The York Chapter of the IMA is the Shippensburg University chapter’s parent chapter.

The Accounting Club provides an opportunity for majors to explore career alternatives in their areas of study. Professionals from public accounting, private industry and nonprofit organizations meet with the club to share their experiences and to provide guidance. Club members share their academic and internship experiences, and field trips are scheduled.
Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program is a nationwide free income tax assistance program provided by the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and sponsored by the Community Action Commission. It assists low-to moderate-income families (below $40,000) who qualify for refunds, such as the Earned Income and Child Tax Credits.
