There are a variety of resources and information available to students
regarding internships and career-related issues.
S.U. Alumni Career & Employment Services http://www.ship.edu/alumni (Click on Career Services) The University Relations Office staff can assist SHIP Alumni with their career development needs. Through alumni services pages, you can learn about the Alumni Career & Employment Services program and also check out services for employers. Explore these pages and use them as you need them throughout your career.
College Central Network
College Central Network is a comprehensive on-line job posting and
recruitment services. It provides information on full-time, part-time,
and internship opportunities to you free of charge. For more information

Career Development Center
The Career Development Center offers many services to the students
at Shippensburg University. Information on resumes and cover letters,
networking, interviewing, and available positions are available
at the Career Development Center. http://www.ship.edu/career
CAREERLINK
The CareerLink website www.pacareerlink.state.pa.us
provides self-service access to employment and training opportunities
24 hours a day, 7 days a week from any personal computer connected
to the Internet. CareerLink has offices throughout PA. The closest
office, Franklin County Center, is located at 600 Norland Avenue,
Chambersburg. Their phone number is 717-264-4584.
Occupational Outlook Handbook and Career Guide to Industries
The 2006-07 edition of both the Occupational Outlook Handbook,
(http://www.bls.gov/oco/),
and Career Guide to Industries (http://www.bls.gov/oco/cg/home.htm)
have been published on the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Internet
site.

The Resource Room contains information on companies, employers,
and career related issues. This is a great place to research job
opportunities and prospective employers when you are ready to enter
the professional workforce through an internship or full-time employment.
Textbooks and professional journals are available for the students
to use.
Also, there is information available on companies that are participating
(or have participated) in the Business Internship Program. Come
to the Resource Room to find out more about these employers and
look at the job descriptions on positions that are being offered.
It's great to get feedback from students that have 'been there'.
Student site evaluations are available so that you can see what
other students have to say about their internship experiences with
specific companies.
Alumni connections are also available through the Resource Room.
You can see what graduates from Shippensburg University are doing
in the in the business world. These individuals are willing to talk
to you and discuss their current professions. This is a great way
to start networking!
