Shippensburg University SHRM Student Chapter Earns Merit Award

5/3/07
SHRM’s Review of all 2006 - 2007 Student Chapter Merit Award entries has been completed.

Shippensburg University SHRM Student Chapter has earned the Society of Human Resource Management’s (SHRM) MERIT AWARD! The annual SHRM Merit Award program recognizes student chapters for outstanding activities and programs in four broad areas:

Winning a Merit Award provides the Shippensburg University SHRM Chapter with national recognition for a job well done.   Our student chapter worked diligently throughout the year planning meetings, conducting chapter programs, and preparing for and participating in the HR Games.  The team is especially pleased since the Merit Award recognizes a higher level of achievement than the Honorable Mention Merit Citation we received for the 2005/2006 academic year.  A Merit Plaque will be awarded to display in the Management & Marketing Department within the John L. Grove College of Business.  In addition, Shippensburg University will be recognized in SHRM’s publications and on the SHRM website and at the SHRM National Conference to be held in Las Vegas, NV this June.

The Society for Human Resource Management is the world’s largest association devoted to human resource management.  For more information about the student chapter merit award program, visit http://www.shrm.org/students/meritaward.
