WELCOME FACULTY!
When meeting with the faculty of Shippensburg University, we are often asked what services the CDC has to offer for their students.
Our mission is to "help students develop, evaluate, and implement their professional and career plans."
We do that through a variety of programs and services in the Career Center in the Ceddia Union Building, through presentations in classroom settings, and at student organizational meetings.
Throughout the academic year we are invited into the classroom to present information on such diverse topics as:
- Presenting Yourself on Paper (Resumes & Cover Letters)
- The Value of Internships
- Presenting Yourself in Person (Interviewing)
- Graduate School Information
- Job Search Strategies
- Portfolio Development
- How to be Successful at a Job Fair
Topics are relevant to student concerns and the content can be tailored to meet the needs of your specific class/major. If you have considered providing career/internship related information to your classes, please contact us at X1484 or by email at career@ship.edu to discuss how the Career Center can assist you in meeting your goals for the semester.
The Career Center realizes faculty are often approached by students and asked to serve as professional references. Here are some tips and suggestions for writing reference letters for your students!
