Each year Catholic Campus Ministry joins forces with many others in the "March for Life" in Washington DC each January. For more information about this yearly trip call the CCM Office at (717) 477-1244 or e-mail: rmdenn@ship.edu

halloweenCHILDREN'S PARTIES

This party is held at the Shippensburg University Spiritual Center where children enjoy dinner with their parents, a costume judging contest, crafting (including their own pumpkin to take home), a scary story time by Fr. Dave and a goodie bag for each one to take home with them. Many students from the Newman Association provide an enjoyable time for all.

CHRISTMAS OUTREACH PROGRAMS

THE ANGEL TREE

During the Christmas season, Bob and Sue Kiley, Our Lady of the Visitation Parishioners, coordinate the Angel Tree project for the Parish and the Newman Association. This year the Newman Association was able, once again, to assist a local family in need. Shippensburg University student, Sara Heller, along with the assistance of other students, collected funds, purchased gifts, wrapped them and delivered them to the family, before going home to celebrate wth her own families.

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS

This year Shippensburg University CDT Martin Campbell will coodinate the Catholic Campus Ministry & Newman Association's effort to "Support Our Troops" for Christmas. CDT Campbell, along with the support of other student volunteers, were able to collect many Christmas Cards, notes and pictues not only for our Shippensburg University Service Men & Women serving abroad, but also for recovering soldiers.

While setting at the "Support the Troops" table in the Ceddia Union Building, in November, several volunteers gave of their time so that the lives of area service men and women would be a bit brighter over Christmas. Shippensburg University students, faculty and staff, who wished to participate, are able to sign a Christmas card or write an encouraging letter to our Shippensburg University soldiers serving abroad over Christmas and they were also able to write an encouraging note to recovering soldiers as well. Children from Shippensburg Head Start and, students at the Shippensburg Middle School also participanted in this worthy cause by providing many notes and pictures too. For more information about how to support our troops, contact Martin at mc5671@ship.edu.
