Volunteer Services
The Volunteer Service Office (VSO) is the central hub for campus organizations and individuals that want to volunteer. Located in room 010 in the Lower Level of McLean Hall in the Student Life Center, the VSO offers a variety of resources to get the students of Shippensburg University involved in serving their peers, the community, and the nation. Many Ship students have joined volunteer organizations and are participating in projects that are helping to improve the community and nation.
Students at Shippensburg University who volunteer have found their experience to be rewarding and enriching. Not only do they obtain leadership and life skills that are invaluable, some also leave the experience with new relationships and a sense of importance.
Past and current activities include clean-up of state parks and forests, sponsoring a Children's Fair for the Shippensburg community, volunteering our services for a Valentine's Day Tea Party at a local predominantly retirement community, and planning and hosting an annual Holiday Party for a local homeless shelter.
