Volunteer Organizations

Volunteer Service Council
The Volunteer Service Council (VSC) is an organization made up of the officers of the campus volunteer organizations. The VSC works as a support for all volunteer organizations on campus. Through the VSC, volunteer campus organizations collaborate on service projects, such as Michaux and Caledonia State Parks Projects, Toys for Tots, and the Shippensburg University Community Children's Fair.

Big Brother/Big Sister
Shippensburg University students share their time with a child from the community developing a special relationship and friendship between the big and little. Bigs and littles meet for about two hours each week, individually or for special group activities. Some of the special activities offered to help bigs and littles interact are a get-to-know you picnic, trick-or-treating, clay molding, and holiday parties.

Circle K International
Circle K International is the world's largest collegiate service organization. Sponsored by Kiwanis International, Circle K International offers every college student the opportunity to help their school and home communities. Circle K Clubs exist to help the world, while at the same time developing the unique abilities and understandings of the individual member. Circle K'ers devote their time toward the advancement of Circle K's three main objectives: service, leadership, and fellowship. Some of the projects Circle K at SU has organized and participated in include Project Hunger, blood drives, highway clean-ups, Habitat for Humanity, and raising money for The Make-A-Wish Foundation and for children suffering from Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD).

SEAC
SEAC (Student Environmental Action Coalition) is part of a national organization that works to promote and bring awareness to environmentally sound ideas. SEAC is an active organization and has been involved with activities such as Michaux State Park clean-up, Newburg recycling, "Think to Shrink" program (an effort to reduce, recycle, and reuse resources on campus), and has volunteered at and hosted the Environmental Congress. SEAC also brings in speakers on environmental issues and participates in Earth Day.
