Campus-Community Coalition
The Campus-Community Coalition deals with alcohol and other drug use both on campus and in the Shippensburg community. The purpose of the Coalition is to bring together various members of the university and the surrounding community in order to address AOD issues, share information, make contacts, and overall to work in cooperation to reduce high-risk and illegal drinking among both college students and younger members of the Shippensburg community. The Coalition is chaired by President Ruud, and includes members of the Shippensburg University faculty and staff, as well as graduate and undergraduate students, representatives from the police force, the mayor of Shippensburg, and teachers and administrators from the local middle and high school. Also, members from Roxbury Treatment Center and the Cumberland County Drug and Alcohol Commission are included in the membership of the coalition. The Coalition meets twice a semester and is open to anyone interested in attending. The schedule for the meetings will be updated each semester.
