Nontraditional Student Organization
The Nontraditional Student Organization (NTSO) is for students who are at least twenty-four years of age who have had a break in their formal learning and now are returning to the university or entering the university for the first time. Any undergraduate, full-time, part-time, or extended studies students registered at Shippensburg University can participate in this organization. The organization provides academic and social support for all nontraditional students.
The lounge is located on the corner of Naugle Hall across from Franklin Science Center. To enter the lounge go through the gated area. The lounge is a card secure environment. Please use your student identification card to enter. The nontraditional student lounge can be used for relaxation between classes, eating lunch, socializing, or studying. The NTSO lounge is equipped with an office, lounge furniture, computers, printers, refrigerator, microwave, telephone (477-1241) with voice mail, and a television.
The Nontrational Student Organization (NTSO) has proven to be a strong support system for all older students. The organization encourages active participation through the Board and corresponding committees. Meetings are conducted monthly; input from current members help direct the focus of the educational and social programs offered each year. It also assists with a special orientation program for returning adult students. Look for your invitation in the mail. The Stepping Stone, a nontraditional student newsletter, is emailed out every other month and serves as an important link between the students and the campus.
