I have been a member of the Department of Mathematics at Shippensburg University since the fall of 1993. I hold a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Carnegie Mellon University, specializing in a branch of mathematical logic called model theory. My current mathematics research spans many areas of discrete mathematics including logic, combinatorics and graph theory. My educational agenda focuses on building skills in problem-solving, independent thinking, and communication, especially as these skills relate to the understanding of "abstract" mathematics and the notion of mathematical proof. |

At Shippensburg, I have been very involved with undergraduates doing their own research in mathematics. This has led to interest in a wide range of topics in discrete mathematics and several active projects, including
