Archaeological sites of Orkney
Some of the archaeological sites pre-date the pyramids of Egypt. Until just a few years ago, many of them were unremarkable features of farmer's fields. Minehowe is surrounded by several sites that may prove to be more remarkable than Minehowe, once they are excavated.
