Welcome to the Honors Program!
Honors students at Shippensburg University benefit from small classes, excellent teaching, and exciting research, study abroad, and internship opportunities. Students in the program also participate in special social, cultural, and community service activities. The Honors Program involves students in every major and every class level. They come from a variety of backgrounds and have diverse academic and social interests. What they share is their desire to make the most of all the opportunities available to them at Shippensburg University.

The mission of the
Honors Program at Shippensburg University is to provide an outstanding
undergraduate experience that emphasizes scholarship, leadership, and
service. The goals of the Honors Program are:
- To actively engage and challenge students throughout their undergraduate careers, preparing them for study in graduate and professional schools, careers, and a lifetime of intellectual growth.
- To expand students' intellectual horizons beyond the classroom by promoting participation in undergraduate research, study abroad programs, and internships.
- To
help students develop leadership skills that will benefit the Honors
Program, the university, and the community.
- To provide opportunities for students to initiate and participate in service projects that will strengthen their civic engagement and enhance the university and community.
