Conserve Paper when Printing PowerPoint Files

An important part of keeping tuition costs down is saving paper on campus. When printing your PowerPoint slides, print them as handout rather than one slide per page. Here's How...

There are many ways to Save a file for printing in Blackboard. Here are the two of them.

Saving a File 1

  1. Click on the PowerPoint file.
  2. The File Download dialog box will appear.
  3. Click on Open. The file should open in PowerPoint. If not, begin with step one and choose Save. A dialog box will open. Save the file to your computer.

  5. Click on the Office button.
  6. Choose Print from the Menu.
  7. Select the arrow beside the Print what: combo box.
  8. Select the Handouts item on the Combo list.
  9. Select the arrow on the Slides per page: combo box.
  10. Select the number 3 to indicate that you want three slides per page to print out.
  11. Click on the OK button to print the PowerPoint presentation.

Saving a File 2

  1. Right-click on the PowerPoint file.
  2. Choose Save Target As and save the PowerPoint file to your desktop.
  3. Open the PowerPoint file in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  4. Click on the Office button.
  5. Choose Print from the Menu.
  6. Select the arrow beside the Print what: combo box.
  7. Select the Handouts item on the Combo list.
  8. Select the arrow on the Slides per page: combo box.
  9. Select the number 3 to indicate that you want three slides per page to print out.
  10. Click on the OK button to print the PowerPoint presentation.

No Text Box Error

There are two ways to correct the No Text Box Error. If you are taking an essay exam, follow these steps and watch the video BEFORE taking the exam:

  1. Navigate to the Blackboard website and sign in.
  2. On the right-hand side of the browser window, click on Personal Information.
  3. The Personal Information Page will appear. Click on the Visual Text Box Editor Options link.
  4. Click on the Unavailable radial button.
  5. Click on the Submit button.

If you are using the discussion board and the text box editor will not appear, follow these steps.

TAKE NOTE!

This procedure WILL NOT work for
essay or short answer exams.
This solution will throw you out of the exam!
