Using your Course Wiki and Blogs

What is a Wiki?

Graphic: Wiki

A wiki is a collaboratively built website (for example, Wikipedia.com).  The Teams LX (Wiki) feature in Blackboard provides a space for both the individual and the group to collaborate in the online environment as an entire course group, in smaller working groups, or individually between student and faculty member.  Students can manage course-related projects by working with a Teams LX to add and edit individual wiki pages and the system will automatically track page changes.

What is a blog?

A blog is short for the term 'web log.' It is an journal that is placed online. The entries are placed in reverse-chronological order. In Blackboard, the Journals LX features allows students to enter content into Blackboard, sharing it between student & faculty member or with the entire class as a group. Faculty can create blogs and reflective journals for course groups and individual students, managing sharing rights and readership.
