What is the Center for Instructional Technology (CIT)?

The Center for Instructional Technology in room 012 Lehman Library provides faculty with state-of-the-industry facilities for multimedia production, image and slide scanning, CD-ROM copying, course Web site development, interactive tutorial development and test authoring for our campus learning system, Blackboard, and presentation development.

Who can use the CIT?

The lab is open to faculty for the development of multimedia educational materials in support of faculty projects, grants, or curriculum development. We strongly recommend that you make an appointment to reserve a machine and/or to schedule time with a consultant by emailing us at idds@ship.edu in advance of your visit. Walk-in service is provided depending on consultant and machine availability.

What equipment is available in the CIT?

Currently, we have 6 PC's and 1 MAC computer (Learn More). If you need to scan documents we have 2 scanners, 1 Epson (PC) and 1 HP flat bed (MAC). We also have digital cameras available for your use. Along with our digital camera and scanning capabilities we also have a SMART Board and a Sympodium monitor.

What does the CIT have to offer?

The CIT offer scheduled workshop sessions, one-on-one sessions, consulting and development of web pages, PowerPoint presentations, Blackboard (Bb) courses, CD-ROMs, digital video and audio, and interactive course materials.
