What's New Adobe Acrobat - Version 8

Many changes have been made to Adobe Acrobat 8. Now you can easily track and view multiple reviewers’ notes and track the status of documents under review. You can also permanently remove metadata, hidden layers, and other concealed information, and use redaction tools to permanently delete sensitive text, illustrations, or other content. A new feature in the Windows version of Adobe Acrobat is the ability to automatically archive e-mail in Microsoft Outlook for easy search and retrieval.

Purpose

Adobe Acrobat is used to create Portable Document Format (PDF) files from existing documents preserving the original format of the document. PDF files are viewed with a free reader available for download . Faculty can create PDF files as a way for students to view files created in a word processing, publishing or presentation program without having the original program on their computer. PDF files offer a way to save files so that others cannot modify your document. The current version of Adobe Acrobat is Acrobat 8.0. Acrobat can be purchased in either Acrobat Standard or Professional version. The Adobe Acrobat site outlines the differences and similarities of both products.
