Delivery Service to Faculty


Policies & Procedures - September 2003

Policies:

1.ILL, PALCI/EZBorrow, UBorrow and SU owned (Callslip) books will be delivered.

2.Library personnel will deliver during day and evening office hours.

3.Will not accept returns at this time, but might be possible in the future.

4.Faculty member will have to sign form when delivered to them. 

5.Limit of 5 books per delivery per person per day.

6.Still must have SU ID when coming to the library to check out materials.

7.Begin October 1, 2003.

8.No summer delivery.

9.Must provide Office Building & Room No., office hours and telephone extension with each request.

Procedures:

1.  To place a request for SU Books that are in the stacks (i.e., not charged out):
a.Find the specific title in the SU online catalog

b.Click on Request.

c.Type in your ID number (22403…) and your last name.

d.Click on Login.

e.Choose Callslip from the dropdown menu and click on OK.

f.Fill in your ID number (22403…).

g.In the Comment field, provide your Office Building & Room No., office hours, and telephone extension.

h.Click on Submit Request.

i.You will get a message indicating if your request was successful.

2.  For each request that you want delivered to your office you must indicate so using the following guidelines:
a.Interlibrary Loan RequestsPlace a note in the “Notes” field withoffice location, office hours and telephone extension.

b.SU Books (Callslip) – Place a note in the “Comment” field with office location, office hours and telephone extension.

c.PALCI/EZBorrow – Forward “Ready for Pickup” email notification to libcirc@ship.edu with office location, office hours and telephone extension.

d.UBorrow – You will receive a paper notice indicating your book is ready for pickup. When you receive it, mail it back to the Circulation Department with office location, office hours and telephone extension.

3.When the books are delivered, you will be asked to sign a form indicating you received them.
