MIS students graduate with a foundation for understanding, developing, and operating computer & information systems. This major relates fundamental concepts to practical applications, and provides the student with the necessary skills to function as a responsive professional in a variety of specialized roles.

Most MIS graduates work in computer software firms, data processing firms, banks, insurance companies, accounting firms, consulting firms, manufacturing, healthcare industry, and government agencies.

Employment in Information Systems is expected to grow much faster than the average for all occupations in the next ten years as computer usage expands.
