Mercredi 21 janvier    Première réunion Jeudi 5 février  Présentation de Michael Celius sur Haïti Jeudi 19 février Présentation de Moumouni Noma sur Le Niger Mercredi 25 février  Présentation de Lamine Lomri sur l’Algérie Jeudi 12 mars   Film : « La vie et rien d’autre »--sous-titré Jeudi 2 avril    Pétanque ! Samedi 25 avril  GRANDE FINALE DU SEMESTRE Nous dînerons dans un restaurant français puis verrons « L’illusion comique » de Corneille (en anglais) au théâtre de l’université du Maryland. Programme du semestre d’automne 2008 Tout sera confirmé par e-mail  Lundi 13 octobre à 6 :30, RLH 117.  Présentation de monsieur Andrew Allison sur son expérience en France.  Présentation de monsieur Étienne Mitaut sur l'archerie en France. Samedi 1er novembre.  Voyage à Washington pour voir la collection de peintres impressionistes à la National Gallery of Art.   Lundi 1er décembre: Film À la folie, pas du tout, une comédie amusante ! Autres activités : En octobre et novembre, nous aurons des soirées de poèsie avec tous les étudiants du département.  Venez écouter nos poètes! En décembre: Film Persépolis. Spring 2009

	Michael Celius a fait une belle présentation sur son pays d'origine, Haïti. Le Club de Français a bien apprécié!

 

 

Fall 2008

The French Club went to visit the new exhibit of the Fashion Archives dedicated to black and white outfits. Jenna Sheaffer, Eric Kock, Katie Kittner and Sarah Stewart went with Drs. Mitaut and Ragone to the museum, and admired French and Louisianan pieces that the curator, Dr. Bohleke, was glad to spotlight.

 

Etienne Mitaut, who participated in competitive archery in France, gave a presentation to the French Club about the modalities of the sport.
The first meeting of the Club for fall 2008 discussed the activities for the semester and the Honor Society membership requirements

 

PRINTEMPS 2008

Le club de francais a fêté Mardi Gras ce semestre. Nous sommes aussi allés à Washington voir une exposition de peinture.

Under the guidance of Dr. Heitsch, the Shippensburg Chapter of the French Honor Society PI DELTA PHI was created in 2001.  The purpose of the society is to promote knowledge and appreciation of the French language.  It also recognizes outstanding scholarship in the French language and its literatures, and encourages French and francophone cultural activities.

The charter members are Amy Lubienski, President, Brooke Culbertson, Renée Geist, Erin Koweleski, Jon Peters and Jomiel Ruiz.  Honorary members are Dr. Dorothea Heitsch, Dr. Alain-Patrice Nganang and Dr. Agnès Ragone.

SPRING 2009

The French Honor Society initiated its new members this spring. The President of the Soiety is Miss Jenna Scheaffer, the Vice-President, Miss Jamie McNulty. The new members include Mr. Brian Biery and Miguel Carrillo-Valois. Honorary members are Dr. Mitaut and Mr. Mark Hammond. Dr. Mitaut is the adviser for the society. After the initiation, the new members enjoyed a party with French cheeses and sweets.
