Unfortunately, this article is only available through Lexis-Nexis, and Lexis-Nexis is a bit fussy about direct links.
What this means is that in order to read "The Culture Excuse" you'll need to look the article up yourself. This is how to do it:
(1) Click here. (This will bring you to the list of the library's databases, starting with "L".)
(2) Click on the link for "LexisNexis Academic". It should be the second database listed.
(3) At this point you may be asked for your student ID barcode and last name. If so, enter them. If not, proceed to step 4.
(4) Click on the "Power Search" tab near the top of the screen:
(5) In the search terms textbox, enter "The Culture Excuse".
(6) From the "Select Sources" dropbox, select "The New Yorker". (See figure below.)
(7) Click on the "Search" button. The article should pop right up in your browser.
