- The student must register with the Office of Disability Services;
- The student must present documentation to the ODS from a qualified psychologist, medical doctor, or psychiatrist that verifies a learning disability; hearing impairment, visual impairment, ADD/ADHD, psychological condition, physical impairment, chronic illness, or other permanent disability;
- The documentation must not be more than three years old at the time of request; and
- Documentation on a prescription pad is not acceptable.
Accomodations and Procedures
The student must be able to perform the essential objectives of the program/ course with or without “reasonable accommodations.” Accommodations requested by the student must be “reasonable.” An accommodation cannot lower the standards or change the objectives of the program / course. Since planning is a critical step in providing accommodations, the requests for accommodations should be made in a timely manner. Students are strongly encouraged to contact the ODS a minimum three to four weeks prior to the start of the semester.
Accommodations are made on a case-by-case basis and may include but are not limited to:
- Enlarged printing
