The Self-Care Unit As you assume more responsibility for your own health, you will see that while certain conditions need the attention of a health care professional, other conditions, such as colds, can be self-treated.
To encourage self-responsibility for your health care, we have a self-care unit which allows you to treat your minor health conditions. This unit offers you the option to evaluate your own health conditions, determine if you can safely treat yourself, and proceed through posted treatment instructions. Over-the-counter medications are supplied. The staff is available for consultation at all times. The self-care unit is open from 8 AM to 10 PM daily. Click here to see the self care material. Allergy Injections Allergy injections are given only while a doctor is in the health center. You may bring your extracts to Etter when you arrive on campus. You will be asked to sign a contract stating your willingness to get injections on time and to remain in Etter Health Center for 20 minutes after injections (to watch for reactions). Allergy injections are available at no cost to the Etter Health Center. Allergy injections are given Tuesday - Thursday 9 AM – 11:30 AM and 1 PM – 4:00 PM and Friday 10 AM – 11:30 AM. These are the only times allergy injections will be given.
