DUFFY NAMED PSAC WESTERN DIVISION DEFENSIVE POW

 

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Sophomore linebacker Frank Duffy (Philipsburg, N.H./Philipsburg) was chosen as the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Player of the Week on Sunday.  It marked the first career honor for Duffy and the second this season for the Shippensburg defense.

 

Duffy posted a team-high eight tackles, including five solo stops, in Shippensburg's 44-0 win over Clarion University on Saturday.  He also added a tackle for loss and recovered a fumble that led to a Red Raider touchdown. Duffy led a Shippensburg effort that held Clarion to 90 yards of total offense and 16 yards rushing.

 

For the season, Duffy has started all nine of the teamıs games as Ship is 8-1 overall and 4-1 in the PSAC.  He has totaled 45 tackles this year, fourth on the team, 6.5 tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, two interceptions and one fumble recovery.
