STREET NAMED PSAC WEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg University football player Mike Street (Philadelphia/Mastbaum) was named the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Western Division Defensive Player of the Week for his performance in a 17-10 victory over Edinboro University on Saturday.

Street posted seven tackles, forced a fumble, recovered a fumble, had one interception and one pass break-up.

His strip and recovery of a fumble late in the first half at the Edinboro 29-yard line, led to a Shippensburg field goal that gave the Red Raiders a 10-3 lead at halftime and his interception stopped an early Edinboro drive near midfield.

Street currently leads the team with three interceptions for 92 yards, including a 92-yard interception return for a touchdown against Bloomsburg University which was the second longest in school history.  He is also tied for the team lead with 30 tackles and has two fumble recoveries and one forced fumble.
