Minter Earns Second Consecutive PSAC Western Division Rookie of the Week Award

Mar. 3, 2008

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. - Shippensburg University men’s basketball freshman guard Justin Minter (Philadelphia/Cardinal Dougherty) was named the PSAC Western Division Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week and the third time this season after leading the Red Raiders in scoring in their final victory of the season over Indiana (Pa.) last Wednesday.

Minter led Shippensburg against the Crimson Hawks with 18 points, including three trifectas, to mark the first time all season that all five Red Raider starters finished in double figures. His final three-pointer iced the victory by giving the Red Raiders a seven-point lead with 1:13 to play.

Minter previously won rookie of the week honors last week after combining for 33 points in two games and also on January 7 after totaling 22 points in PSAC crossovers against West Chester and Millersville.

The freshman guard finished the season by scoring at least nine points in 14 of his last 15 games and averaging 15.6 points over the final five games of the season.
