Box Score

SHIPPENSBURG, Pa. – With 6:37 remaining on the clock, junior Shanna Oaddams (Willingboro, N.J./Willingboro) had scored her 1,000th-career point and more importantly, the Lady Raiders held a six point advantage over homestanding Lock Haven University. However, Lock Haven's Ilia Lopez sank two foul shots with 35 seconds left to tie the game at 66 and send the game to overtime where Lock Haven would outscored the Lady Raiders 17-7 en route to an 83-73 final.

The Lady Raiders (11-13, 1-8) opened the game with a 2-0 lead on an Oaddams layup and trailed only once until Lock Haven's Shameka Lee scored five seconds into overtime, continuing the Lady Eagle's late rally that extended Shippensburg's losing streak to three games.

Shippensburg received a game-high 22 points from Oaddams, 17 points from senior Caitlin MacPherson (Hemlock, N.Y./Livonia) and 16 from sophomore Megan Fogle (Wrightsville, Pa./Eastern York), but Lock Haven combated the Red Raider attack with four players in double figures, including Kristy Shadduck and Lee, who both record double doubles. Lee ended the game with 20 points and 13 boards and Shadduck finished with 16 points and 14 rebounds.

Shippensburg employed a combination of sharp 3-point shooting (5-of-8) and stingy defense in the first frame, extending the lead to as much as 23-14 before taking a 37-33 edge into the midway point.

Lock Haven battled back, tying the game at 49 apiece with 13:02 remaining, but on the next Shippensburg possession, senior Kim Strickland (New Kensington, Pa./Valley) found Oaddams, who snapped the tie and scored her 1,001st career point.

The Lady Raider lead extended to as much as six, but from there, Lock Haven sneaked back into the game and sent it to overtime on Ilia Lopez's free throws. Both Fogle and MacPherson were forced to take an early exit because of fouls, leaving Ship with five players and Lock Haven took advantage.

The Lady Eagles posted a 7-3 run out of the gate in the extra period and never looked back. Lopez not only scored the final two points of regulation, but also 11 of the teams' 17 points in overtime.

Lock Haven knocked down an incredible 28-of-31 free throws in the game while Shippensburg shot just 4-of-9. Shippensburg also committed 26 turnovers on the evening.

The Lady Raiders will look to bounce back on Saturday, Feb. 18 at Heiges Field House when they take on visiting Slippery Rock. Seniors Caitlin MacPherson and Kim Strickland will be honored prior to the game as part of the Senior Day ceremony. Action begins at 1 p.m.
