No. 16 IUP Edges Shippensburg 55-48 in PSAC Quarterfinals, Lady Raiders End Season 19-9

INDIANA, Pa. - Jahzinga Tracey totaled 19 points and 12 rebounds, both game-highs, to lead No. 16-ranked Indiana (Pa.) to its first victory in three tries against Shippensburg this season, 55-48 in the quarterfinals of the PSAC Women's Basketball Championship Tuesday night at Memorial Field House.
With the win, the Crimson Hawks (25-4) will host the
PSAC final four on Friday and Saturday where they will play West Chester
in the semifinals after the Golden Rams defeated Cheyney 84-69 Tuesday
night. Meanwhile, Shippensburg concludes its season with a 19-9 record, just
missing its first 20-win season since 2002.
Tracey scored 14 of the Crimson Hawks' 28 second-half points, including eight of the last 10, as they outscored the Lady Raiders 19-12 to build a seven-point lead, 46-39 with 7:56 remaining after the game was tied at the half, 27-27.
With 6:06 left in the first half, senior guard Megan Fogle (Roaring Spring/Eastern York) scored to put Shippensburg in front 27-20, but the Lady Raiders would not hit another field goal until Fogle scored with 15:54 to play in the game that put Shippensburg up by one, 31-30.
Following a two-pointer by Fogle with 5:49 left in the game, the Lady Raiders did not score another point from the field, finishing the game with just two attempts from the floor while committing six turnovers.
Sophomore forward Lauren Beckley (Fairfield/Fairfield) led Shippensburg in scoring with 13 points and 10 rebounds Tuesday night, while Fogle finished with 11 points, and sophomore guard Michelle Metz (Pottstown/Pottsgrove) added seven points and seven assists.
Neither team shot the ball well, the least of which was Shippensburg who shot just 35.4 percent from the floor, including 25.0 percent from three-point range. The Lady Raiders were also hampered by 18 turnovers, 11 of which came in a decisive second half.
Fogle finishes her career with 1,418 points to rank 11th on the school's all-time scoring list. She also had 208 career three-pointers to rank second behind Tracy Spencer's 246.
Meanwhile, Beckley finished the season with 624 points, the third-highest single-season total in school history, and an average 22.3 per game. She leads the PSAC in scoring and rebounding and her double-double Tuesday night was her 21st of the season, also tops in the conference.
Through two seasons, Beckley has totaled 28 double-doubles and 1,172 points, including 130 three-point field goals.
