Founded in 1990, Shippensburg University Television (SUTV) produces informational and an entertaining range of programming created by Shippensburg University students. SUTV is a student operated club with voluntary member participation in various roles.

It is the mission of SUTV to create an enhanced sense of the campus and surrounding communities by producing programming with the interests of the students, faculty, alumni and the community. SUTV can bee seen on the campus cable system on Channel 75 and the Comcast Community Access Channel 21.

SUTV enables students to develop and apply their studies to enhance their professional preparation for a career in communications or other fields after their university studies. The university coursework prepare the students to think logically, read critically, write clearly, develop their intellectual abilities, such as analytical skills and verbalize ideas in a succinct and articulate manner and create programs utilizing the campus television studio and labs.

The university's primary commitment is to student learning and personal development through effective and innovative teaching and a wide variety of high-quality out-of-class experiences. SUTV is one place where students can apply their coursework toward their professional development. The university encourages and supports activities which give students many opportunities to apply the theories and methods learned in the classroom to real or practical situations. The ultimate goal is to have students develop to their utmost the intellectual, personal, and social capabilities they need to perform as competent citizens prepared to embark on a career immediately upon graduation or after advanced study.

SUTV production standards are of professional quality. This is a learning experience for the student members which provide an opportunity to operate the campus television channel with support from the faculty, staff and administration. We, the members of SUTV are honing our skills to produce quality programming such football and basketball game coverage, news and entertainment programs.

SUTV’s goal is to improve the quality of life on campus and in the community we serve by providing meaningful content that informs, involves, entertains and inspires.

The volunteer support of the students is paramount to the functioning of SUTV and we are proud to serve the campus, alumni and the community at large.
