I have developed a specialty related to land use and land cover change research. Specifically, I use satellite-derived data sets to track urban land cover change through time, to simulate and forecast future urbanization, and to investigate ecosystem impacts of urbanization. I have three main study locations in the Mid-Atlantic: the Chesapeake Bay Watershed, the Upper Delaware River Watershed, and the Baltimore Metropolitan Region.
