BIG FLAT HILL CLIMB

Sometimes we climb from the east, sometimes the west. This year, the SMSS revisits the west side.

We'll start from Southampton Township Park on Airport Rd, but the racing won't really begin until after the intersection where Baltimore Rd turns and heads up the mountain. And what a mountain. What a treasure of a road this is! Not very steep at any point, but we gain nearly 1400' in elevation all told. A South-central classic. And, hopefully, the mountain laurel (PA state flower) will be in full bloom. Then the forest will look as if littered with fresh popped corn, which, if you were watching the bike race, you'd want. In a cup. In your lap. Because exciting.
