Internet Gaming refers to any game multiplayer or otherwise that is only available through an internet connection and include video games with internet access as well as games accessed within a website of server, (Jupiter Media, 2008).
This website will explore the different aspects of online gaming such as communication, motivation, and applied research. In an attempt to make the understanding of the material a little easier we have give definitions of some of the terms below.
Console Gaming
Gaming that is done by use of a specialized computer called a game console. Gaming Software is placed into the console and the game is displayed on a television (pcmag, 2008). |

Multiplayer Online Gaming Gaming in which two or more players can interact in a game or simulated environment simultaneously. |
Types First Person Shooter (FPS) Definition-- Action game played from the first person point of view. (you are seeing the game through the eyes of the character, but do not see the character itself), (Spohn, 2008). *This is the most prevalent based on our research but there are many other types of console games. |
Types Massively Multiuser Online Role Playing Games Definition-- A role playing game on the computer played by many people. MMORPG differs from a computer role-playing game due to the fact that the environment exists and is constant even after the player has stopped playing (pcmag, 2008).
