Gallery Construction
The other purpose of this course was to instruct students to compose prints that were of the quality to furnish an art gallery. To help achieve this, they also took care of all the necessary operations to create the exhibition. The tools were provided to the students to complete all the steps.
The walls were in need of some patching and fixing after the last exhibition was taken down. The pieces were arranged along the walls to see which positions would accent the exhibition the best. Then all of the walls were measured and marked in accordance to the specifications of each work of art. After all of that was completed, each work of art was hang individually in the spot assigned to it using special clips. The ends were pinned to the walls to keep the pieces flat. The last part of this step was to pin a number, that courisponded to it's placement in the exhibition, next to each pieceon the wall.
Once everything is in place as well as cleaned up, the lights have to be adjusted. The lights present the pieces in the best possible light. To achieve this, there should be at least three lights on each piece. Every light had to be positioned carefully by hand with the use of a ladder.
